Hey everyone,
My name is Connell Rath and I've been playing this game for quite a few months now.
My introduction is coming a bit late as I have been quite active in the party skype channel for a few weeks, but I just wanted to say hi to anyone who may not know anything about me.
Well I started a party, Progress through Peace or later Progress Force and was Party President of it on three occasions. The reason why I wanted to start a party rather than join one was quite simple, although Other voices gave me a place to express my own opinion I always thought that there would be a limit to what I could accomplish within a party like that. As everyone had their own ideas and would vote their own way, there would never be a way to ensure that legislation would be put through. At least in a large party like EA there will always be a base support group.
The reason why I didn't join any existing party at the time was because I was disillusioned with Irish politics and felt that there was no real choice on foreign affairs matters.
There seemed to be only Pro-Eden and Pro-Phoenix movements, whereas what I had planned was Pro-Ireland.
I also felt at the time that there was a certain Oligarchy and Hierarchy within Irish politics.
The reason I left the party, was because the party had become stagnant and so had my motivation for it to Progress. My last act as party president was to get elected as Party President and pass on the party to a friend of mine Mirek.
I struggled to get High profiled and hard-working party members to join the party. It also seemed as though that the policies particularly foreign policy was not being considered.
So why EA?
Well firstly I was just very impressed with the organisation of you guys. Also the fact that you were all new, with a new outlook on what Ireland can achieve and how we could improve things.
Also I had been "creeping" around the forums before joining and saw lots of what I liked. Emphasis on new player development and organisation, which is exactly what I think Ireland needs!
What do I think I can add to EA?
I've been very interested in the whole economic side of the game since I started and know lots about it.
I have also been in charge of several companies and can offer advice on all aspects of setting up a company, buying and selling anything in the game.
I'm a pretty well mannered, logical and free-thinking individual.
I hope that even this will prove my worth and help improve and develop the party and get new and innovative ideas coming from our members.
So Please if anyone ever has a question or even just want to chat about something don't hesitate to send me a message in game or a chat message on Skype or the irc.
