Good morning,
Today, I am coming to you all because we need to do some things and I need your help.
We need to get some kind of party structure in place. We need a Charter written that gives us guidelines on how we do things, who does what, and what our general philosophy is.
So, here is your chance to make your mark on things, cause I can’t do all of that by myself.
Between myself and few other on skype, we have this basic framework…
We should have a "Community manager" We should have a "Election Manager" We should have some kind of Government Liason... someone to work with the current administration each term. [6/9/2010 7:52:19 AM] Andy (W. Rian): Add to that... Health/Welfare [6/9/2010 7:52:24 AM] Andy (W. Rian): Recruitment [6/9/2010 7:52:28 AM] Andy (W. Rian): Press officer.
We need to have these roles defined. We also need to have written down how we process TD elections, how we support Presidential candidates, and the like.
Any and all input will be welcome. Please lend a hand and get involved and help us create a document that will guide EA for the months to come. We are on the verge of being a major player in the country, but before we do any of that, I want to make sure that our internal ship is in shape.
I want to put a team on this and also take all suggestion from all members that have them.

Preamble Éire Aontaithe is a party which provides itself, above all else on teamwork. Co-operation is at the heart of the party in all of its actions and decisions. The party thrives on the active commitment of individuals and the contribution of original ideas. The party aims to create an inclusive and co-operative community among its members through active discourse in order to achieve the optimum policy results which, in our view, are conducive to the best interests of the party, its members and eIreland as a whole. This is the spirit of our party and the spirit of our charter.
Party Committee In the spirit of our core values, our party is not to be managed exclusively by any one party president, but by a committee of individuals co-operating with one another in the interest of the party. These positions will hold greater weight in party decisions than those without rank, but it must be kept in mind that each individual party member has the right to express him or herself and to be heard in party affairs. These committee positions are outlined below:
Party President The role of the party president is the most important role on the committee, particularly as it is the only role established by game mechanics. As well as having all the in-game power given to this role, the party president will have the strongest say in deciding the course of party policy and overall decision making. If it is conceded by a majority vote of active party members, the president may also personally appoint EA members to the committee positions mentioned below. If this right is not agreed upon within the party, the committee members will be elected by voting within the party.
Commmunity Manager The community manager is responsible for ensuring that a reasonable level is maintained among party memebers. The role involves occasionally checking in on individual party members and keeping track of overall party membership. It is the duty of the community manager to be aware of who is and who is not active in the party at any given time to the best of their capacity.
Election Manager The election manager is responsible for organising all elections that concern the party and its members. This includes those at both the national and party levels. As the role applies to all such possible elections, it includes those which fall outside existent game mechanics, such as elections to the party committee.
Government Liaison The government liaison will act as intermediary between the party and the incumbent government for each term. In effect, the liaison is a selected to represent party interests in national affairs and vice versa.
Health/Welfare Officer The health and welfare officer (hereafter referred to as HO) is responsible for the upkeep of the general health of the party as a whole. It is the duty of the HO to address issues of wellness concerning members of the party, particularly concerning requests for gifts and party housing arrangements.
Recruitment Officer The recruitment officer is responsible for advertising the party for potential members and working to acquire new members by any other possible methods. He/she is also responsible for the induction of said new members into the party framework.
Press Officer The press officer is responsible for the public image of the party. Their role is primarily to mediate between the party and the media, as well as the public and work maintain a favourable public image. The press officer should also be responsible for the majority of media interviews concerning the party or EA policy.

the community manager needs to be the guy what contacts those not talking and checking in on them. Also, keeping track of membership, who is active, etc.

The form of which I would love this to go is that we write about what each group is doing in the forums. That way we can all comment and help to make eachothers divisions better I would very much like the recruitment officer role, but at the same time would love to help out with all the others too. With the forum system we could do that. I think this would work for all positions, but I think the elections discussion should be in private in a skype group or something. I also think this would be a good way to discuss CP election policies and such.

I modified by last post with a sample preamble and a little paragraph introducing the committee (which is pretty much an expanded version of one sentence I took from Rian about teamwork ) . It's really just a sample, but might get something started. Don't take it as being reflective of the actual party charter.

Can I give you two suggestins. Include the roles of updating or creating a Wiki site for the party. New members look there to get information about each party. The role of Congress whip should be included. Advising on votes but also letting members know when there is a vote.

Well the decisions on votes in congress are already sorted with our skype groups.
Good idea about the wiki page though, Cheers

So, this is what a provisional committee would look like so far. I might do press officer myself if no one else goes for it. Party President: Bristel Akina Community Manager: ajneurohr623 Election Manager: connell? (by default) Government Liaison: Mirek12345 Recruitment Officer: connell? (pick one ) Health/Welfare Officer: ____ Press Officer: ____

Well I've been doing the elections the last two months, so I guess I could be put down for that too. IMO the most important two fields are yet to be filled, Health and Press Officier

Well, since it's provisional I'll just put myself for press officer until someone else comes along. If anyone else wants it I won't even run against them.
